Briefing on 2025 First time Concentrated Training of Vacation Crews of SITC Shipping
On March 27-29, 2025, the"2025 First time Concentrated Training of Vacation Crews of SITC Shipping" was held at the Zhiyuanlou Hotel in Qingdao. More than 120 vacation Captains, Chief Engineers, Chief officers, 2nd Engineers, 2nd Officers, 3rd officers etc. senior crews of SITC fleet participated in the training.
Mr. Zhang Haiyu, Assistant President of SITC Shipping and General Manager of SITC Ship Management Shanghai introduced SITC Shipping's organizational structure and fundamental knowledge of container shipping. By implementing a new flat management framework and functional adjustments, the company aims to enhance operational efficiency and improve ship-shore coordination. Additionally, various measures will be taken to strengthen crew culture development. Finally, he encouraged everyone to continue learning and apply innovative thinking in their work.
In addition, the centers and branches of SITC Shipping,the Hong Kong Maritime Department, and Ms. Zhang, a mental health instructor from the Crew Training College, conducted training sessions covering crew management, fleet technical and safety management, flag state requirements, ship inspections and evaluations, vessel management system operations, case studies on accidents, and crew mental health. They also provided suggestions and recommendations for future work.
The purpose of this training is to enhance safety awareness, standardize operational procedures, and strengthen the sense of responsibility in daily work, thereby improving vessels' self-management capabilities. Through activities like crew experience sharing sessions, it has further reinforced the sense of belonging and professional pride among the seafarers of SITC.
