Briefing on the Second Concentrated Training for Vacation Crews of SITC Shipping in 2025
The "Second Concentrated Training for Vacation Crews of SITC Shipping in 2025" was held at the Zhiyuanlou Hotel in Qingdao from October 17 to 19, 2025. Over 140 senior crew members from the SITC fleet participated in the training, including vacationing Masters, Chief Engineers, Chief Officers, Second Engineers, Second Officers, Third Officers, and Electro-technical Officers.
Ji Wenguang, President of SITC Shipping, outlined the company's strategic objectives for fleet development, safety production management, and crew team building. The company will further strengthen investments, optimize the crew recruitment, training, and compensation systems, and refine career development pathways, committed to building an internationally leading seafarer team with the SITC DNA.
The relevant centers of SITC Shipping, SITC Ship Management Shanghai and Shandong, SITC Crew Company, training officials from the Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration, external service providers, and a psychological health lecturer from Dalian Maritime University conducted training sessions and exchanges. These sessions covered various areas, including crew management, fleet marine and engineering safety management, vessel inspection and evaluation, vessel management system operation guidelines, accident case studies, PSC inspections, vessel remote control systems, paint application, and seafarer mental health. Suggestions and recommendations for future work were also provided.
The purpose of this training was to systematically enhance crew safety awareness, standardize operational procedures, and strengthen a sense of responsibility in their daily work, thereby comprehensively improving vessels' self-management capabilities. Furthermore, the training included crew sharing sessions, which effectively fostered a stronger sense of belonging and professional pride among SITC seafarers.
