Briefing on the First Concentrated Training for Vacation Crews of SITC Shipping in 2026
The "First Concentrated Training for Vacation Crews of SITC Shipping in 2026" was held at the Zhiyuanlou Hotel in Qingdao from April 24 to 26, 2026. Over 130 senior crew members from the SITC fleet participated in the training, including vacationing Masters, Chief Engineers, Chief Officers, Second Officers, Third Officers, First Engineers, Second Engineers, Third Engineers and Electro-technical Officers.
Li Ruimin, General Manager of the Technical and Equipment Management Department of SITC Shipping on behalf of SITC Shipping firstly introduced the fleet status and development plans of SITC Shipping, and shared the ideas and requirements for future vessel management. In addition, relevant centers and branches of SITC Shipping, external service providers and mental health lecturers conducted training and exchanges for vacation crews. The training covered crew management, typical problems in fleet daily operation, accident case studies, vessel management system operation guidelines, vessel inspection and evaluation, as well as seafarer mental health. Opinions and suggestions on future work were also put forward.
The purpose of this training was to strengthen safety awareness, standardized operational procedures and professional responsibility in daily work, and comprehensively improve vessels' self-management capabilities. Meanwhile, through crew sharing and other activities, the sense of belonging and professional honor among SITC seafarers has been further enhanced.
