Human rights commitments



SITC International is committed to safeguarding human rights and labor rights. We believe that employees are the company's most important assets, and we are committed to providing employees with a safe, healthy, fair and respectful working environment. We strictly abide by the Core Conventions of the International Labor Organization, the Maritime Labor Declaration of Compliance and all other relevant international labor conventions and regional regulations to ensure the rights and interests of our employees.

 

1. Protect human rights and labor rights

1) We are committed to respecting and protecting the basic human rights of all employees, including but not limited to freedom of expression, equal rights and dignity.

2) We prohibit the use of forced labor, child labor and discriminatory employment practices.

3) We respect employees’ rights to organize freely and do not interfere with or discriminate against employees' rights to join trade unions or engage in collective bargaining.

4) We put an end to a series of harassing remarks and behaviors including sexual harassment, rioting and bullying.

 

2. Protect human rights and prohibit forced labor

1) We prohibit all employment of child labor and discriminatory behaviors.

2) We employ employees on a voluntary basis and do not use prison or slave labor.

3) We will not cause physical harm to our employees or perform any other form of forced labor, and we will not use the threat of any punishment to force anyone to perform all work and services that the person does not perform voluntarily, whether it is prison labor, bonded labor, or indentured labor. Or in other forms, forced overtime is prohibited.

4) We are not involved in any behavior related to human trafficking, sexual exploitation, forced labor or services, slavery or similar slavery.

5) We do not require employees to submit their original passports, ID documents, travel documents or other personal legal documents as collateral at the beginning of employment. We do not detain employees or restrict their freedom of movement.

 

3. Prohibit the employment of child labor

1) We do not employ persons under the age of 16 unless permitted by national or local law and in compliance with the International Labor Organization program.

2) We prohibit the employment of employees of any age, including apprentices or technical school students, in violation of local regulations on minimum working age and compulsory education age. We file each employee's month and year of birth or use legal means to determine each employee's age.

 

4. Ensure freedom of association, collective bargaining and the right to appeal

1) We respect employees' right to form and join industrial trade unions, and have the right to negotiate collectively in a peaceful and legal manner under applicable laws.

2) We comply with all applicable laws regarding freedom of association and collective bargaining.

3) We accept collective bargaining requests to ensure that working conditions and employment terms are consistent with the consensus of both employers and employees.

4) We will not harass, intimidate or retaliate against employees when they are free to associate or bargain collectively.

5) We adopt confidentiality measures for employees' grievances.

 

5. Ensure the right to freely choose one's career

1) We respect workers' right to freely choose their employment and shall not engage in any restrictions or retaliatory actions.

2) We do not restrict workers' right to freely choose employment through non-competition agreements without financial compensation.

 

6. Ensure fair and equal treatment of employees

1) We ensure that all employees are treated with respect and dignity.

2) We prohibit physical, sexual, psychological, verbal or other harm to employees.

3) Our terms of employment, including hiring, training, working conditions, remuneration, benefits, promotion, discipline, termination or retirement shall be based on the individual's qualifications, performance, skills and experience.

4) We prohibit any form of discrimination, including but not limited to race, color, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, marital status, maternity, political opinion, nationality, social background, language ability or any personal characteristics irrelevant to work ability. We encourage employees to report any discriminatory behavior and commit to investigating and handling every complaint seriously.

5) We ensure that all employees are treated equally and enjoy the same opportunities and benefits.

6) We comply with all applicable laws regarding discipline, harassment and abuse.

 

7.Equal pay policy

1) We strive to ensure that employees of different genders, different ethnicities, and different nationalities receive the same salary and benefits under the same conditions

2) We strive to ensure that employees' salaries and benefits are not affected based on their gender, race or color.

3) We prohibit any form of gender and racial discrimination, including but not limited to recruitment, promotion, training, working conditions and job assignments.

 

8. Ensure the health and safety of employees

1) We protect the health and safety of our employees in accordance with local laws and regulations.

2) We provide necessary safety training and ensure employees use safety equipment and tools.

3) We ensure that the workplace complies with all applicable safety standards and regulations.

4) We ensure that employees have the right to refuse to perform tasks that may endanger their safety and health.

 

9. Ensure reasonable remuneration and benefits

1) We pay wages and provide benefits to all employees fairly and without unfairness.

2) We ensure that all hourly wages paid meet at least the minimum legal wage or a relatively higher local industry minimum wage standard. And pay overtime pay and bonuses as required by law.

3) We pay all legally required benefits, including but not limited to health insurance, work-related injury insurance and annual leave, without illegal deductions.

4) We communicate with all employees orally or in writing about the salary incentives, benefits and bonuses they receive under applicable laws and in the workplace.

5) We encourage employees' career development and provide training and promotion opportunities.

 

10. Ensure reasonable working hours

1) We comply with all applicable laws regarding regular working hours, overtime hours and benefits.

2) We provide all employees with documents regarding salary, working hours (including overtime), wage standards, benefits and any deductions.

3) We provide statutory rest days, public holidays and paid holidays. Employees should have at least one day off every seven days, and overtime hours cannot exceed national or local laws.

 

We are committed to complying with the above regulations and will continuously review and improve our policies and practices to fully protect human rights to ensure that our employees can work in a fair, equal, respectful and safe working environment. Our above commitments and requirements not only apply within the company's business scope (including but not limited to the employees, business activities, service activities of SITC International and its holding subsidiaries, offices, terminals, yards, sailing vessels, etc.), It also applies to our requirements for suppliers and partners. We will ensure that our suppliers and partners generally strictly abide by human rights-related laws and regulations and create a good industry environment.
