SITC Fleet Seafarer Management Training and Seminar
The " SITC Fleet Seafarer Management Training and Seminar " was held at the Zhiyuanlou Hotel in Qingdao from October 22 to 24, 2026. More than 110 senior crew members of the SITC fleet including vacationing Masters, Chief Engineers, Chief Officers and First Engineers participated in the training.
Zhang Haiyu, Assistant President & Director of Vessel Management of SITC Shipping, introduced the overall safety situation of SITC Shipping and its fleet as well as future work requirements, and had in‑depth communication on crew personal growth and development. In addition, in accordance with the actual training demands of participants, relevant centers and branches of SITC Shipping, the Operations Center of SITC Line, external service providers, mental health lecturers and participating crew representatives delivered training for vacation crews. The training covered crew management, typical problems in fleet daily operation, accident case studies, vessel management system operation guidelines, vessel inspection and evaluation, seafarer mental health and onboard work experience exchange. Opinions and suggestions on future work were also put forward.
Focusing on safety management, this training facilitates experience exchange and interactive sharing. It helps seafarers build solid safety awareness, comply with operational procedures and assume duties, improving vessels’ self-management capability. It also fosters seafarers’ identity and pride in SITC fleet development and shore-based management.
